Now the submit form works, but only if the telephone field is left empty. I’ve tried entering the number with and without hyphens. The field turns red and the submit button doesn’t work.
If I leave the phone field blank, then the submit button works.
Unfortunately the problem is in sending rather than validations the message . Please contact your hosting provider and ask them to enable function email() .
The phone field is no longer there though. I was told on a Contact Form 7 forum that I needed to change the form field <span style=”caret-color: #000000; color: #000000; font-family: -webkit-standard; font-size: medium;”>HTML</span> from:
[email your-phone placeholder “PHONE”]
to
[phone your-phone placeholder “PHONE”]
Now the phone field box is gone, replaced by this <span style=”caret-color: #000000; color: #000000; font-family: -webkit-standard; font-size: medium;”>HTML</span><span style=”caret-color: #000000; color: #000000; font-family: -webkit-standard; font-size: medium;”> </span>text: [phone your-phone placeholder “PHONE”] (see enclosed screenshot)
