If you have Visual Composer or Rev Slider with a theme which you’ve purchased from ThemeForest, then you don’t need to activate it. This option is for users who have purchased this plugin individually.
To update you need:
Enable default theme
Navigate to the Plugins menu in your WordPress admin area.
Deactivate Plugin, delete it
Go to Install Required Plugins
Upload and install the new version
Activate Plugin .
When you say ‘install the new version’. Do I need to go download the latest version of the slider plugin, install that, activate it, and then change the theme back to ‘renew’ and the revolution slider should then be working and activated? Thanks.
I believe I followed those instructions. You say I don’t have to activate it, then why when I install the plugin from ‘required plugins’ page… it says ‘Activate’. I hit activate, and then it still says please enter your license key. I did not receive one. Please elaborate or explain what I am doing wrong.
Disregard- your instructions seem to have worked. For others wondering, I was just confused because the plugin still says ‘Please activate to use premium features” however after following the steps here, slider is functional even though it says that.
