Custom Social Icons not showing in header

I have set custom social media links in the header under appearance/custom/social for YouTube and Instagram.  I uploaded icons to the media library, and set them in the relevant boxes.

The links are there in the header, but the icons are not visible.

Any ideas what I need to do to have them show up?
