    Hi Alex,

I am finding a big issue with trying to sort my content into categories.

I faced this problem when setting up my services. To solve this problem I just deleted all the categories. If this can be rectified would be great.

But I definitely needs categories to work well in my blog page. As you can see every post is displayed separately on the main blog page and not put away under the category that I have specified.

My understanding of categories is that on the main blog page, the parent categories will be shown. You click on the parent category and the sub-categories should appear and so on and so on….

I hope this can be fixed or tell me how to do it if it is something that I am not doing right. Also would be great to fix or tell me how to fix this similar problem in the “Services” page.

    Thank you,

    ahmad

    Hi

You can configure the order of categories in Post – Taxonomy Order , Services – Taxonomy Order

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for making my blog page looks better. But it is still showing all individual posts on the main blog page, which makes the page very cluttered.

My thought was that the purpose of categorization is to have the main category on the main blog page. Subcategory will show up once I press on the main category in the blog page. Then, individual post will show up once I chose which blog I want to read.

Is this how it meant to work?

    Kind regards,

    ahmad

    Hi Alex,

an example is the website we are on

    https://support.templines.com/forums/topic/categorization/

As you can see, the categories are grouped together. So, when I go to the templines support page, there are two main options either forums or knowledge base. Then I clicked on forums. There are all the forums available. Then I chose the forum I want. I then arrive at the topic page with available topics. I then chose the individual topic.

In my blog page, this is the case going backward (i.e. when I am at the individual blog) as shown in the attachment. But going forward (i.e. when I am at the main blog page), there is no sense of categorisation at all.

I hope that gives some clarity.

    Regards,

    ahmad

You can create banners and divide posts into categories or use other plugins  . Thanks

    Hi Alex,

Thank you for your suggestions. I may try other plugins when I have a bit more time on my hands. But for the time being, I tried to add elements into my blog page, but they do not stick. When I preview the changes, they all disappeared. Maybe its me, maybe there is something else? Will be great if you can check it out for me and let me know.

    Regards,

    ahmad

    Hi Alex,

The blog page is just not behaving as other pages do. I can’t add anything using the WPBakery page builder. I am not sure if this is normal for the blog page.

I wanted to add a banner as you suggested, but I can’t. Maybe there is something I am missing here. Please give me some direction.

    Regards,

    ahmad
