My client doesn’t love how the categorization works when someone is creating an ad.
They noted: “The Categories are mixed with main Categories and sub categories together. It would be better if we can have them step down with only the 5 main category choices first and then subsequently another drop down list for sub items in that specific category.”
Is this something that is due to be updated in the future, or is it possible to hire you to customize/change that? If so, what would it cost?
They have 5 top level categories:
- agriculture
- commercial & industrial
- oil & gas
- residential
- other
Each of those categories has 1 level of subcategories. In the screenshot you’ll see the subcategories of Agriculture – Farm General, Harvest & Hay, Heavy Equipment, etc.
Right now, when someone ads a product, they see a long list that includes Agriculture, then all it’s subcategories, then Commercial and Industrial with all it’s subcategories, then Oil and gas with all ITS subcatgories, etc. They find this confusing. They would like the dropdown to only list the top level categories. The user would pick the top level category, then the NEXT dropdown list would only show the subcategories of the SELECTED top category above.
Is that a future enhancement? Or is it possible to hire you to customize that for them, and if so, how much does it cost to hire you for custom work like this. They may have other requests as well.
