I have a variation on my product that normally appears in a drop down list that is not longer appearing.
This was working up until recently, but has now stopped. Not related to any changes I made, and it was working in mobile browsers and firefox until I tried to fix it by downloading and installing the latest version of the theme.
This caused a critical error on the site so I had to revert it back.
There are a couple of errors in the console regarding outdated bootstrap js files, not sure if this is the cause or not.
The site is live but at the moment no-one can purchase any products so this is pretty urgent.
Many thanks.
Hello.
Please attach a screenshot for clarity .
Thanks
Just checking you can access ok and got everything you need from me?
Please use latest theme Version: 1.6 and theme plugins PixthemeCustom Version 1.2 .
Thanks
Hi Alex, I can’t see any version 1.6 for ExProduct. Latest version is 1.5.8.
I also can’t find the PixThemeCustom plugin anywhere, can you post a link.
When I tried to update to the latest version I got a critical error, presumably due to that plugin not being installed.

I tried to install the latest version 1.5.8 again, this time through WordPress but had the same critical error as soon as I activated it.
I had a look in the zip file for an includes directory to see if the PixThemeCustom plugin was in there but it’s not so it seems there is no way to upgrade from 1.5.3 -> 1.5.8 because I can’t install the required plugin.
The normal step of using the “Install Required Plugins” after activating won’t work as I get a critical error as soon as I activate the theme and can’t get into the site dashboard and need to revert the theme to another one through the database to get back it.
This is becoming a real problem now as the site has effectively been down for 5 days as no-one can purchase any products. Hope you are able to help.
Hi Alex, are you able to use SFTP (secure FTP) over port 21? My hosting provider require that.
Hi Alex, I’m in NZ so it’s late (11pm) but I’ll be checking periodically though the night in case you need a response from me.
So I’ve had another go at upgrading the theme with the same results. This time though I’d backed up the old directory, then when it tanked renamed the new one and reverted to the old one.
Investigating the error, it is this code block in the updated theme:
(class_exists(‘PixthemeCustom’)) {$pixtheme_plugin_dir = ABSPATH . ‘wp-content/plugins/pixtheme-custom/’;require_once($pixtheme_plugin_dir. ‘/post-fields.php’);}
So the problem is that the PixthemeCustom class does exist, but there is no post-fields.php file in that plugin. I created an empty post-fields.php file with just the start and end php tags. This allowed the theme to run and not crash the site, but I’m not sure what adverse affects this will have.
When I ran the “install required plugins” after updating to 1.5.8 it still did not install pixtheme-custom, and the post-fields.php file is the same as I created it.
It seems your upgrade/install process is broken.
Are you able to provide the required new version of pixtheme-custom so I can update that?
Thanks.
