WPBakery Editor displaying strange tags in edit mode

Whilst editing a page the WPBakery Editor is displaying strange tags in square brackets in edit page mode.

Look at the About Us page for instance.

Should I downgrade the PHP version to fix this or is this something you need to fix?

Why are so many things wrong with this template supplied by you guys? Shouldn’t a purchased template upon uploading work perfectly and be ready for content loading?
